Description

Unicancer is the federation of French comprehensive cancer centres (FCCCs), a major player in cancer research and a network of 20 private, non-profit healthcare centres specialised in oncology, brought together in a health cooperation group. Unicancer brings together the 18 FCCCs and 2 affiliated member institutions, spread across 22 hospital sites in France, treating nearly 540,000 patients every year (in short-stay, home hospitalization, and outpatient procedures). Unicancer is also the leading academic sponsor of clinical trials in oncology on a European scale, with 109 active clinical trials sponsored, including 20,000 enrolled patients. Recognized as a research leader in France, the Unicancer network enjoys a global reputation, contributing to one-third of significant international oncology publications from France (source: bibliometric study/Thomson Reuters). More than 700 additional clinical trials (were sponsored by the Unicancer network in 2021. Over 16% of patients in FCCCs are enrolled in clinical trials, which represents approximately 20,000 patients annually, and over half of PHRC (Clinical research hospital programme) studies. Unicancer is also a pioneer in real-world data research, with four national real-world data platforms launched since 2014, involving around fifty healthcare facilities. These platforms have registered over 83,000 patients in the ESME databases across three flagship indications (metastatic breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and lung cancer), and more than 31,000 in the ODH platform, a true observatory for medication and innovation, launched in 2021. Unicancer is also at the forefront of data mobilization at the level of each centre, notably through the Unibase program. >> Follow us: www.unicancer.fr
