Description

Created in 1924, the French Hospital Federation brings together more than 1,000 hospitals and 3,800 medico-social structures (retirement homes and independent specialized reception homes), i.e. almost all public sector establishments. Its national dimension and legitimacy make the FHF a leading player in the world of health. A true “common house of hospital workers”, the FHF was built around shared values: equal access for all to quality care; the desire for innovation and excellence in care and support, teaching and research; continuity of care. The FHF is working to create a real public health service bringing together professionals from the health and medico-social sectors in each territory in order to improve the coherence of care and life pathways. In 2024, the French Hospital Federation is celebrating its centenary and is deploying in this context a series of initiatives around the history and future of hospitals and public medico-social establishments and, more broadly, of the health system.
